John Kerry's daughter is free and clear this morning... because the L.A. City Attorney has decided not to prosecute her for DUI -- that's what law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
TMZ broke the story Alexandra Forbes Kerry was busted by the LAPD early Thursday morning, but her blood alcohol level was .06 ... under the legal limit of .08.
The City Attorney typically doesn't prosecute cases with a .06 ... so the decision to reject the case is pretty routine.

Arnold Schwarzenegger can be influenced by the rich and powerful -- as in, his wife, Maria Shriver.

The California Governor took his Porsche out for a spin in Bev Hills Saturday, and left his sweet ride in the red zone. Since the State is broke, there weren't enough cops around to ticket the Guv, so he got away with it.
We're guessing Maria will call for "swift justice" -- on her cell phone.

Senator John Kerry is on his daughter's team over her DUI arrest this morning in L.A. But he seems to ignore an important fact -- cops claim she was impaired and that's why they busted her.
The Senator points out that Alexandra blew under California's legal limit of .08. He also says she was not pulled over for drunk driving but rather expired tags.
Kerry's rep says, "Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter."
But here's the deal. The Senator didn't mention Alexandra flunked the field sobriety test and that's why cops arrested her. Also in California, you don't need a .08 to be driving under the influence. A sip of wine could do the trick if you can't handle it when you get behind the wheel.
But law enforcement sources tell us it's unlikely prosecutors will file charges.

Senator John Kerry's daughter, Alexandra Forbes Kerry, was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
It went down in Hollywood at 12:40 AM. Alexandra, a 36-year-old film producer and director, was pulled over for a traffic stop, then arrested and booked at LAPD's Hollywood station. She was released at 5:25 AM.
Cops tell us Alexandra violated a traffic law which got their attention. They then conducted a field sobriety test and it appeared she was under the influence of an intoxicant. She was then placed under arrest. At that point, cops asked her to take a preliminary alcohol screening test in the field, but she refused.
Cops took her to the station and then conducted a formal blood alcohol test which showed a level of .06. Under California law, the legal limit is .08, but a driver can still be prosecuted -- even under a .08 reading -- if the vehicle is being operated unsafely due to alcohol.
The inside word -- the L.A. City Attorney probably won't prosecute Alexandra because generally they won't go after people with under a .08 unless the driving is really crazy.

Carrie Prejean has a serious congressional supporter who thinks she should pursue a career in politics ... and it's not just because she has her finger on the hot-button issues.

TMZ spoke with Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) who tells us he thinks Prejean could be a serious contender in the political arena: "[Carrie] has the ability to draw crowds and if she has a strong message to go with that, who knows what she can do? She has star power which can open doors.
"We've all made mistakes when we were 17. [The sex tape] is going to be an impediment, but people are excited about her convictions and her beliefs."
For the record -- Carrie was 20 when she filmed her world famous solo mission.

The feud between Sarah Palin ('memba her?!) and Levi Johnston rages on -- and even though she offered him an olive branch invite to her Thanksgiving dinner, we don't see them sharing the stuffing come next week.

The VP wannabeen appeared on "Oprah" today, where talk turned to her daughter's babydaddy's Playgirl spread -- a career move she labels as "heartbreaking" "porn." Palin also noted that she heard Levi is going by another name these days -- Rikki Hollywood.
FYI -- Levi's supposedly shooting his "porn" today.

TMZ has learned Carrie Prejean just pulled out of a talk she was supposed to give this afternoon at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington D.C. -- an exclusive club for Republicans only.
An insider at the Capitol Hill Club tells TMZ Carrie canceled five minutes before she was supposed to speak because her camp wanted to avoid a repeat of last night's "Larry King Live" fiasco -- when she almost walked off the set.
Carrie faced a fresh wave of criticism this morning after her former hookup told us she wanted him to lie about her sex tape and tell people she was underage when she filmed it ... when she was really 20-years-old.

Like any crafty politician, Congressman Robert Brady (D-PA) has found a way to flip-flop on an important issue ... and we're talking about the Mohawk Challenge between Brady and Congressman John Hall (D-NY19) over who would win the World Series.
As we all know, Brady's Phillies lost ... but his press secretary tells TMZ: "The Congressman will not be shaving his head."
Here's the deal. Brady's peeps say the Mohawk Challenge was rendered null-and-void because the only person we could find to take the bet was Congressman Hall -- who happens to be mostly bald. So that technically doesn't make it a Mohawk Challenge, does it?
Now get this: Back when Hall accepted the challenge, he said instead of the mohawk he would shave off the precious few locks he had left -- which a few follically-challenged people in the TMZ newsroom considered a harsher punishment.
So, the question ....

Real men pay their debts -- even if it means getting a mohawk.

We caught up with Congressman John Hall (D-NY) -- at a barbershop, no less -- who says he fully expects Congressman Robert Brady (D-PA) to pay up on their World Series mohawk bet.
So far, Brady's hairline remains intact.

If this whole "Glee" thing doesn't work out, the show's Canadian star Corey Monteith could get deported back to his homeland for being a jobless non-citizen -- but according to him, Vice Prez Joe Biden could save his ass.

Last night in NYC, Corey said he met the VP at a baseball game a couple of days ago ... and if anyone happened to snap a photo of them together, he thinks the pic could save him from being shipped home.
Our suggestion: Just keep pretending he's American born Chris Klein.

Usually it's considered common courtesy to give up your seat to a woman -- but Rudy Giuliani was reportedly none too pleased when he had to vacate his prized spot at Yankee Stadium ... to the First Lady.

The former mayor of New York City always sits near the Yankee dugout, but according to Page Six he was relegated to sit behind the photographers' box for Game 1 of the World Series because Michelle Obama was given the seats instead.
The paper says it was the White House that didn't want Giuliani near Obama, but get this: Michelle didn't even sit in the seats because of the weather and they remained unoccupied for the whole game.
Giuliani got his seat back for Game 2, which the Yankees won.

The Phillies dominated the Yankees last night -- and according to this PA congressman, not even the combined powers of Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kate Hudson and all the celebrity Yankees fans in the universe can help them pull ahead.

We got Robert Brady (D-PA) -- the same guy who issued The Mohawk Challenge -- today in DC, where he said having hardcore athletic support from celebs is great and all, but "How many home runs did Kate Hudson hit?"
The man has a point...

It took less than an hour -- but a NY politician is totally stepping up to the plate to accept the Yankees-Phillies mohawk challenge issued by Pennsylvania congressman Robert Brady ... but in case you haven't noticed, there's just one small problem...

Congressman John Hall (D-NY19) wants a piece of the head-shaving action ... but he seems to be lacking the proper equipment for a proper mohawk. Instead, he wants to raise the stakes. Here's John's statement:
"Brady must not be that confident. Just a mohawk? I'll see his mohawk and raise him a whole head. I'll shave all my hair if the Phillies win – which we all know isn't happening."
Some people in the TMZ newsroom believe Hall has more at stake -- due to the fact that balding people usually cherish the few follicles they have left. Others believe Brady -- and his big grey mane -- have more to lose.
We're calling Brady right now to see if it's game on!
